Checking the modules installed

The Manager GUI and the necessary services, processes and registry keys are all installed at their dedicated location.

Information noteNote: If the machine is a 64-bit version of Windows, the register base HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE needs to be replaced by HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node.

As a common part to all modules, a tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\WOW6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution has two sub-trees, DD_CFG and DD_DAEMON.

The DDLicense.exe program is automatically installed and used to manage licenses for multiple sources and multiple targets.

The other programs depend on the modules installed:

Module Description of programs

Manager

The DDManager.exe program is installed directly in the installation directory and creates a tree in the registry for each user: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Talend\Talend CDC\Manager\Settings.

NT target module common for source modules

The programs are installed in the installation directory. A Talend Change Data Capture Daemon service is created for future connection requests.

Oracle source module

The programs are installed in the Oracle sub-directory of the installation directory, and three services are created: Talend Change Data Capture Oracle Scheduler, Talend Change Data Capture Oracle Supervisor and Talend Change Data Capture Oracle Universal Remote LogReader.

The following tree is installed in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_Oracle.

A schema is installed for each Oracle instance for which Talend Change Data Capture is installed: DD_USRDATA: contains the parameter definition repository of all the distributions for this source.

An installation log is also included in the Oracle sub-directory in the Talend Change Data Capture installation directory. It is named OracleInstall~instance.log.

SQL Server source module

The programs are installed in the SQLServer sub-directory of the installation directory, and two services are created: Talend Change Data Capture SQLServer Scheduler and Talend Change Data Capture SQLServer Supervisor.

A tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_SQLServer.

A database is installed for each MS SQL Server instance for which Talend Change Data Capture is installed: DD_USRDATA. It contains the parameter definition repository of all the distributions for this source.

An installation log is also included in the SQLServer sub-directory in the Talend Change Data Capture installation directory. It is named SQLInstall~instance.log. This log also contains the setup defined on the server to shift to the publisher and distributor mode.

A distribution database named Talend Change Data Capture is created. The MS SQL Server concept is not used by Talend Change Data Capture, but it is created by the server and kept to maintain the SQL Server integrity.

MySQL source module

The programs are installed in the MySQL sub-directory of the installation directory, and two services are created: Talend Change Data Capture MySQL Scheduler and Talend Change Data Capture MySQL Supervisor.

A tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_MySQL.

PostgreSQL source module

The programs are installed in the PostgreSQL sub-directory of the installation directory, and two services are created: Talend Change Data Capture PostgreSQL Scheduler and Talend Change Data Capture PostgreSQL Supervisor.

A tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_PostgreSQL.

OpenEdge source module

The programs are installed in the OpenEdge sub-directory of the installation directory, and two services are created: Talend Change Data Capture OpenEdge Scheduler and Talend Change Data Capture OpenEdge Supervisor.

A tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_OpenEdge.

ODBC source module

The programs are installed in the ODBC sub-directory of the installation directory.

A tree is created in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\GammaSoft\DataDistribution\DD_for_ODBC.

An Access bdParamNT.mdb database is installed. It contains the parameter definition repository of all the distributions for this source.
